Technology-driven solutions will not be sufficient achieve sustainable transport goals. This sub-workshop will discuss the role that NMVs are playing in cities in low and middle income regions in meeting the mobility requirements of city residents. Here we will discuss strategies required to preserve the sustainable transport friendly modal shares in the cities in the South. We will also present examples of creating safe infrastructure for pedestrians to ensure safe approaches to bus stops and examples of prioritizing road usage for public transport vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists.
