Abstract

Environment Protection Training and Research Institute has been implementing a programme entitled Clean Line Center supported by USAID through ICICI Bank from April, 2002 to May, 2005. This Project is being implemented in Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) area, which is one of the fastest growing urban areas in India. The first one year period i.e from April 2002 to April, 2003 is supported under TEST programme. The TEST programme had three components namely i) Call Center to receive complaints from public on all matters relating to pollution to be forwarded to the implementing agency / Government

Department for solving the problem and reporting compliance to the complainant, ii) Working groups to provide common platform to officials , NGOs and primary stakeholders to discuss problems and find solutions to be implemented by themselves, iii) Providing knowledge and skills to the primary stakeholder communities to be active partners in decision making and implementation in the process of reduction of pollution. In this paper achievements of TEST project and details of continuation project will be furnished.
