AVL India was incorporated in 1984 as joint venture with AVL List GmbH, Austria. The team of AVL India consists of over 200 employees with expertise in powertrain-engineering, instrumentation, emissions, diagnostics and simulation technologies backed up by a solid project and services network.
AVL Technical Centre - India
In the year 2002, AVL established its state-of-the-art Technical Centre. This centre is equipped with engine dynamometers, emission systems, chassis dynamometers and simulation technologies. The fields of work include 2 – 3 wheelers, passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and industrial engines. The services include development of engines and powertrains, Baseline testing, durability testing, emission limits and many other specialised services in tight cooperation with the clients.
AVL Diagnostic Equipment Unit
This unit supplies and services Gas analysers, Smoke testers, special instruments like engine analysers, RPM measurement and related software to the I&M market. It has more than 3,500 customers spread across the government, retail and OEM.
AVL Instrumentation Systems Unit
This unit has delivered complex testing solutions on emissions, durability, performance, fuel and lub testing and development of powertrain across all major OEMs and test laboratories in the country.
AVL Projects & Services
AVL Projects service network is manned by people trained at AVL Headquarters in Europe to render project execution and services to all customers, having offices in all major automotive hubs.
AVL Powertrain Business Unit
This unit has worked closely with many OEMs in engine development to meet emissions norms, targets on fuel consumption and many other customised engine development programmes.
