Rules and Regulations

  • All artwork must be original
  • Only persons who are residents of Asia can participate
  • Contestants can send more than 1 entry
  • All artwork submitted will be property of CAI-Asia
  • Employees/Contractors of CAI-Asia, organizers of BAQ and their second degree relatives cannot participate
  • Entries will be categorized according to the age limit of artists before the set deadline: Juniors (15 and below) and Seniors (16 and above) respectively
  • Acceptable medium: Pencil drawings, pen and ink, watercolor, oil/pastel, digital art, photograph


How to Join

  1. Fill out online application form:

  2. Use the same online form to attach a digital image of your artwork to CAI-Asia
    (if you encounter problems with the online form, email it to Mike Co, mrco@adb.org)
    - For digital artwork or photographs, send us the file itself (e.g., JPEG)
    - For paintings/drawings, attach a digital photograph of the artwork
    - You may send more than one artwork (make sure that you submit it as a separate entry using the online form)
  3. We will send you an email notification that CAI-Asia has received your entry for evaluation and review
  4. We will announce shortlisted contestants on the BAQ 2006 website (www.baq2006.org) on 14 July 2006. Shortlisted contestant will be asked to submit their original works.
  5. Announcement of Winners will be made two months before BAQ 2006. Overall Winner will receive a special award at BAQ 2006 on 15 December 2006.


Prizes

Cash prizes will be given in two categories: Junior (15 and below) and Senior (16 and above). Winners in EACH category will receive the following prizes:

1st place: US$500
2nd place: US$250
3rd place: US$150

Aside from a cash prize, ONE OVERALL WINNER will be selected and be given the opportunity to attend BAQ 2006 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Airfare and accommodations will be provided courtesy of the BAQ Organizing Committee.

Selected artworks will be exhibited during BAQ 2006, and will be used as part of the promotional materials for the workshop. Afterwards, they will be used in awareness raising activities and campaigns of CAI-Asia and the CAI-Asia Local Networks. It is therefore important that people submit their entries as early as possible.

All residents of Asia are welcome to join. Registration is free.
