Do I need a visa when traveling to Indonesia?
Yes. To gain entry to Indonesia, foreign nationals need to have in their possession passports with at least six months of validity and appropriate visas.
Which citizens are exempted from obtaining entry visas prior to travel to Indonesia?
Currently citizens from only 11 countries - Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Hong Kong (SAR), Macao (SAR), Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam - are exempted from obtaining entry visas prior to personal travel to Indonesia.
Who can apply for a visa on arrival?
Citizens from 36 countries - Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Finland, France, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Maldives, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, People’s Republic of China, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taipei,China, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America - can apply for a visa on arrival in Indonesia, if the travel is intended for tourist purposes. When do I need a single entry business visa?
A single entry business visa is issued to travelers who wish to visit Indonesia for business purposes. A business visa is valid if presented within three months after the date of issuance. This visa can be extended in Indonesia and can be converted to a Temporary Stay Visa.
Are there restrictions for certain passport holders when applying for a single entry business visa for Indonesia?
Yes. Visa requests by Indian, Pakistani and Sri Lankan passport holders need to be approved by the Department of Immigration in Jakarta.
How do I obtain a multiple entry visa for Indonesia?
Requests for multiple entry visas have to be submitted directly to the Directorate General of Immigration (DGI) in Jakarta.
By when do I have to use my multiple entry visa to Indonesia?
Multiple entry visas must be used within three months of issuance. If unused within three months, the visa becomes null and void, and a new application will have to be filed.
