The effects of air pollution on public health, materials, crops, visibility at the urban scale are in additon to the regional transport and global-scale effects known as climate change.

Perhaps the most obvious effect of air pollution is the smog over our cities. But air pollution also affects our health and the health of our children, dirties our buildings, damages crops, contributes to global warming. Collectively, air pollution public health and economic impacts are of serious concern throughout the world and especially within developing countries.
