The 2nd meeting of the Task Force on Hemispheric Transport of Air Pollution under the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution will be held 6-8 June 2006 in Moscow. This meeting will continue to address the policy-relevant science-questions adopted by the task force at its first meeting in 2005. In particular, the second meeting will take advantage of the fact that MSC-East will be our local host and deal with aspects of hemispheric transport of air pollution for POPs, mercury, and the Arctic. We will also discuss methane's role as an ozone precursor, progress on model intercomparison and evaluation since our January workshop, and plans for a 2007 interim report for incorporation in the review of the Convention's Gothenburg Protocol.
Further information about the task force, its mission, previous meetings, and future plans are available on the task force web site (http://www.htap.org)
