Industrial Air Pollution
Air pollutant emissions from industrial sources in Asia includes large-scale power plants and manufacturing facilities as well as small family-owned manufacturing shops that are numerous, difficult to control and wide spread throughout Asian cities.

Coal-Fired Power Plant
Coal-Fired Power Plant

Industrial source of air pollution include a wide range of large and small manufacturing facilities that are fixed, stationary sources, They typically have ducted emissions. Most also have materials handling, fugitive dust and unducted process emissions that collectively pollute the air. Coal and oil-fired power plants facilities are usually the largest sources of sulfur dioxide emissions within a city because of the large amount of fuel they consume. Control technologies for stationary sources include lower sulfur fuels as well as end-of-the-pipe control equipment such as electrostatic precipitatiors, scurbbers, baghouses and flue-gas desulfurization units. Other approaches include emission trading and economic incentives such as to reduce emissions by using cleaner fuels through fuel pricing.
