EMBARQ - The WRI Center for Transport and the Environment represents a model for moving forward through our first partnerships in Mexico City and Shanghai. In Mexico City, EMBARQ has created the first ever public-private partnership to tackle the problems of urban transport from an integrated perspective - from developing a strategic vision to the making of practical decisions on how to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in Mexico City. In Shanghai, EMBARQ will go one step further by developing sustainable transport indicators in cooperation with the city government to monitor progress long after a new transport model has been implemented.
