Gangwon Province, South Korea: South Korean NGV stakeholders have recently concluded an inaugural session of the ANGVA (Asia-Pacific NGV Association) NGV School at the Gangwon Agricultural Training Center. The two day workshop, "NGV Expanding with Knowledge" was conducted with funding assistance from Gangwon Province, and included an overnight stay at the Center.
56 registered delegates attended the workshop including representatives from the Ministry of Environment (MOE), KOGAS, KANGV (Korean Association for Natural Gas Vehicles), Samsung Corporation, Daewoo Engine Co, utility companies and others. Speakers presented a total of six modules covering subjects such as Government Policies, Alternative Fuels, Laws relating to refuelling stations and NGVs, NGV Technology, CNG Stations and LNG Technology.
Despite having a relatively mature NGV industry, this is the first time such a course has been conducted in Korea. A second workshop is due to be conducted in September which is expected to include an totally new program.
