Modern transportation has contribute to the rapid development of social economy, and the improvement of life quality, but it has also become one of the pollution sources, which led to a number of negative impacts to the environment. It is high time now to conduct extensive and in-depth researches on the sustainable development for transportation.
The 4th conference and International Exhibition will be held in Xi'an, China, 8-10 November 2005, following the successful format of the 2nd conference held in Beijing 2000. The objective of this conference is to promote the technical progress and implementation of sustainable development strategies in transportation field in developing countries of Asia-Pacific area, and to present the advanced technologies, new materials, new equipments and new techniques in transportation and environment field across the world.
