The themes of this Symposium will be:
- Contribution to the environmental improvement and sustainable development in Asian countries through "the Partnership for Clean Fuels and Vehicles" (PCFV) which is the global activities of United Nation Environmental Programme (UNEP),
- To keep in close contact with Asian countries through technological information exchange.
Goal
To develop a coordinated project in Asia on cleaner fuels and vehicles
Objectives
- To introduce, exchange and share the information with the participating countries in such fields of technologies as petroleum automotive fuels, clean fuels, vehicle engines, emission control, air simulation models and others which contribute to the environmental improvement.
- Discussion about the above issues with emphasis on "Clean fuels (gasoline and diesel) for the air quality improvement", especially on low sulfurization of fuels
- Discussion about "Technologies for new vehicles and clean fuels for the reduction of greenhouse gases" (such as hybrid vehicle, ethanol blended gasoline, bio-diesel, etc.) from the viewpoint of that the harmonization of vehicle technology and fuel technology is important to promote the environmental improvement activities
