SA Ahmed and JJ Street, Seminar on Monitoring of Air Quality and Acid Rain in Bangladesh; Atomic Energy Centre, Dhaka, 12 April 1997

Abstract

With the global awareness of the influence of wastes and pollutants on soil and environment, a study was under taken with two levels of flyash and three levels of sewage sludge. The rate of application of flyash and sewage sludge was 5,10,25,50 ton/a along with recommended dose of fertilizers (200-150-150 NPK lbs/a) and a control. The test crop was Sorghum (sorghum bicotor L.) in Myakka soil of Florida, at green house of University of Florida in USA. It was laid down in factorial design with three replications. The data reveals that there are beneficial effects of industrial wastes on the growth of sorghum plant and soil.
