Abstract
Air pollution in Dhaka city is mainly due to uncontrolled emissions of motorized vehicles of various types operating in the city. The concentration of some of the primary pollutants such as suspended particulate matters, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide in the ambient air has exceeded the acceptable levels to cause serious health effects. This paper presents an attempt to understand the present situation through analysis of scanty available air pollution data and delineate protection measures to restore the quality of air to acceptable levels.
