The automobile industry is one of the core industries in Indian economy. The demands for reducing vehicle emissions and increasing safety of vehicles are driving a sea-change in technology developments of new vehicles. It is important to understand the implications of various technology developments which have already taken place in existing vehicles and those which are considered in near future for overall reduction in human casualties, both from road accidents and vehicular emissions. Additionally, there are several initiatives that are being and can be undertaken to educate road users both vehicle and non-vehicle users to play their role in improving the present situation.
In view of the above Society for Automotive Fitness and Environment, SAFE (an initiative of SIAM) in partnership with The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) is organising its Annual Convention with an objective to share the knowledge of national and international experts in these fields, to improve quality of life and also showcase the new technology which enhances road safety and reduces vehicular emissions.
SAFE was established in 1999 with membership from vehicle manufacturers, test agencies and NGOs to address issues of road safety and emission control. It has been proactively working with Central Government and various State Governments.
We look forward to your participation in this programme.
