The CAI-Asia Internal Secretariat Coordination Meeting was held at the World Bank Office in Bangkok on July 10, 2005. The CAI-Asia Secretariat, the local network secretariats from China, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Viet Nam, and pilot project secretariats participated in the meeting. Participants agreed that the local networks play an important role in (i) coordinating air quality management (AQM) activities across sectors, (ii) promoting an integrated or holistic approach to AQM, (iii) providing reliable and validated air quality information, (iv) implementing air quality projects, and (v) identifying participants for training activities, among others. Participants explored mechanisms to improve coordination among the CAI-Asia Secretariat, CAI-Asia pilot projects, and local networks in delivering AQM-related assistance at the city level in Asia.
