The China International Bus Rapid Transit Forum 2005 will be held in Beijing on Wednesday, October 19 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This is an international forum that promotes technological progress, exchanges information and shares the experience on the BRT systems. The China Sustainable Transportation Center and the Energy Foundation are organizing the conference.
The China Sustainable Transportation Center (CSTC) is a non-profit research organization and is founded and supported by the Energy Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. CSTC promotes the development of sustainable transportation systems in Chinese cities. Our objective is to build a platform of information exchange consisting of the advanced transportation planning theories and research methodologies from around the world, catering to the specific needs of China as well. Through this platform we can promote the sustainable development for China’s urban transportation systems. Currently, CSTC is cooperating with the Energy Foundation’s attempts to promote the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) developments in China by providing technical supports and the international expert helps in the new practices and developments.
The purpose of the forum is to gather researchers, experts and professionals, government officials, and policy makers from around the world, particularly those from china to present, discuss and exchange experiences on recent developments in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system implementing. The industry leaders will make presentations to forum delegates.
