Information and resources available through several sources contributed to the creation of this Clean Air Tool Kit for Local Governments.
The section providing a primer on clean air and major air pollutants benefited from the US-AEP database, various reports on clean air workshops done by Tagbalay Foundation and Puerto Princesa City LGU, the National Air Quality Monitoring Report 2002, and the www.coalitionforcleanair.org.
Regulations and laws have been reproduced exactly as they appear in the legislation at the time of production.
Several environmental websites were valuable resources in preparing the case studies presented, including: www.sanfernandocity.org.ph, www.cleanairnet.org, www.usaep.org, www.marikina.gov.ph, www.cleanairnet.org, www.gefonline.org, and www.projectmaps-worldbank.org.ph.
Parts of the section on Information, Education, and Communication were drawn from the Materials Development Guide of the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH). PATH is a private, nonprofit, international organization dedicated to improving the safety, availability, and acceptance of health products and technologies worldwide. PATH focuses on developing new technologies and improving existing ones by adapting them to the cultures in which they are used. It encourages the sharing of the materials such as those included in the guidebook.
The section on Planning and Implementing A Clean Air Program benefited from the US-AEP Preventive Maintenance Workshop Report, US-AEP Clean Air Program Reports and Workshop Documentation, the Bahaginan Report, and internet resources on www.usaep.org and www.cleanairnet.org.
The US-AEP Clean Air Tool Kit was made possible through the support provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The opinions expressed herein do not necessarily reflect the views of USAID.
