Partnering Cities for Clean Air
15 December 2005, Manila, Philippines

Time: 1-5pm
Venue: Asian Development Bank

Asian cities are urbanizing at such an accelerated rate as the world has never seen before. While they provide the platform for the fastest growing economies, they unfortunately also face the greatest of environmental challenges. One of them is air pollution.

In response to this particular challenge, the United States-Asia Environmental Partnership Program (USAEP) hosted a gathering entitled "Partnering Cities for Clean Air", in cooperation with the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) and Partnership for Clean Air (PCA). The event aims to feature several cities’ initiatives on clean air, provide information on potential partnerships and technical assistance opportunities, and hold the formal turnover of clean air management-related materials to the Environment Unit of the LCP. The event is supported by the Asian Development Bank, the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities and the USAID Energy and Clean Air Project.

It was attended by a number of local chief executives, partner organizations and national government agencies.
