Transport of air pollutants over the Indian Region
Data on Ambient Ozone Concentration in New Delhi and elsewhere

The goal of this study, sponsored by the USAID/India, is to trace the air pollutants resulting from various sources in India, among which the energy activities have the major contribution and from transboundary contributions (air pollutants coming from across the globe). Energy activities in India are the major contributors to air pollutants. Specific objectives include:

  • Identify "hotspots" within India with respect to air pollutants, impact on human health, and economic development.
  • Correlate pollutants’ concentration levels at specific geographic areas with respiratory diseases and agricultural yields.
  • Propose air pollution mitigation strategies for policy makers.
