The Stockholm Environment Institute in collaboration with Thai Pollution Control Department and the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities' (CAI-Asia) Clean Air Training Network (CATNet) will be hosting a 10 day training course on air quality management (AQM). The training course is aimed at technical specialists working in AQM.
The training courses will be directed to meeting the needs of those working on AQM in Bangladesh, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
The course will provide training on the principles of AQM and provide "hands-on" practical experience of AQM using case studies and field trips. It will cover the following themes:
- Clean Air For Asia
- Governance and Policies for Clean Air in Asia
- Air Pollutant Emissions
- Monitoring Air Quality
- Air Quality Modelling
- Air Pollution Impacts
The course will be led by Dr Dieter Schwela, SEI (formerly of World Health Organization) with contributions from invited international and regional air pollution experts.
Eligibility Individuals undertaking administrative and technical work on AQM in Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam only are invited to apply.
NOTE: The course requires a high level of interaction from the participants. Therefore all participants are expected to demonstrate in their CV a high level of spoken and written English. If required, interviews will be conducted by telephone.
Selected participants will receive an economy air ticket to venue, hotel accommodation and meals. In addition, a small per diem will be provided.
