Abstract
This presentation describes the French policy and regulations for air quality management corresponding to emissions from stationary sources like combustion, incineration or co-incineration (co-processing in cemeteries), small and medium size industries.
According to convention about long distance transboundary air pollution (ECE-UN) and European directive on national emission limits, the national emission inventory system is presented for gas, total suspended particulates (PM 10 and PM 2,5) and toxic pollutants (POP, VOC, Hg, and heavy metals). Globally, the data show a constant decrease of emission levels for each species.
The different technologies to meet these abatements are discussed (desulfurization, deNOx, deDIOX, scrubbing and filter processes ...) and they conduct to use the concept of best available technology. French industry for emission monitoring is well adapted to each industrial plant and several solutions are proposed.
Finally, this presentation takes in account problems to greenhouse gases emissions and to way the control or to store them and to promote energy efficiency (like for methane reduction).
This policy can be adapted to Asian countries.
