The Task Force on Hemispheric Transport of Air Pollution plans to have its third meeting 30 May to 1 June in Reading (UK).
The topics to be covered in the meeting include:
- The content of the TF HTAP 2007 interim report and formal adoption of its executive summary. The main purpose of the interim report is to inform the Convention in its review of the 1999 multi-pollutant, multi-effect protocol (the Gothenburg protocol).
- Scientific presentations on the effects of climate change on air pollution, with a focus on identifying issues that should be addressed further in the assessment of future impacts of intercontinental transport and hemispheric pollution.
- Follow-up of the activities since the 2006 TF HTAP meeting, including reports on the workshops on emission inventories and projections, held in Beijing 18 to 20 October 2006 and on integrated observations, held in Geneva 23 to 25 January 2007.
- Reports on the progress of the TF HTAP model intercomparison experiment phase one and the planning for future phases.
