The International Partnership for the Hydrogen Economy (IPHE) Steering Committee and the International Energy Agency (IEA) are working together to implement the project Building the Hydrogen Economy: An Infrastructure Strategy. The overall goal of the project is to: 1) summarize lessons learned and analysis from early public and private sector investments in hydrogen economy infrastructure, and 2) develop a viable vision and pathway(s) forward for future infrastructure investments and development activities. Three workshops are planned to take place in this project. The first two took place in Detroit USA in April 2007 and in Paris in July 2007. Tongji University of China supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology will host the third workshop of this project at the Galaxy Hotel, 888 Zhong Shan Xi Road, Shanghai China between 22 and 24 October 2007. We welcome you to Shanghai and invite you to attend the third workshop.
The third workshop will include introductory presentations from leading professionals and analysts in the field. A considerable amount of workshop time will be devoted to facilitated sessions where participants will help develop viable scenarios and pathway(s) to build a sustainable and efficient infrastructure to support the hydrogen economy. Major regulatory and logistical issues - such as the production of hydrogen or the development of regulations, codes and standards - will receive particular attention. In addition, participants will focus on the infrastructure challenges and opportunities of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and the Shanghai World Exposition in 2010.
