Dear all,

On behalf of Hazardous Chemicals Management Project, I am writing to invite you to nominate your staff to participate in a regional training workshop. The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), the Foundation for Scientific and industrial Research of Norway (SINTEF) and Pollution Control Department, Thailand, will organize the regional training workshop that will be held at the AIT, Pathumthani, Thailand on 10-14 December 2007. Please find the draft workshop program in the attachment. The program has been designed to provide participants with the fundamental and advanced knowledge in Hazardous Chemicals Management together with sharing information between participating countries. We hope that the knowledge and information gained during the workshop will be useful for you to manage the hazardous chemicals in your home country. Further, we also believe that the professional regional network that you will establish during the workshop will benefit our future collective efforts to improve the environmental quality in the region.

The cost of round trip air ticket economy class from your city to Bangkok, accommodation, and food are provided for the selected participants. Please also help to distribute the information to the related organizations/persons in your country.

According to the workshop program, participants from each country will present a case study on hazardous chemicals management. The nominee needs to fill in the application form and send to us by October 22, 2007 and send the abstract of his/her presentation to AIT before November 5, 2007. These will serve as the basis for selection of participants.
