On 29 November 2007, in Khoang Xanh, Ha Tay province, a Consultation workshop for the Draft 1 of the national state of the environment report "Urban Air Quality in Vietnam" has taken place. This is one of a series of workshops being conducted by Vietnam Environment Protection Agency to acquire comments from experts on the first national report on air quality in Vietnam.
After the initial presentation on the main contents of the report and the process of accepting delegates comments from the previous workshops, delegates had time to discuss and give their comments to improve the draft report. The delegates recognized the Report Task Group's effort in accepting experts recommendations and producing the new draft.
The Draft 1 has been corrected and completed with the addition of more data and information. Many delegates, however, made further comments on the structure and the contents of the report: that the report structure should follow more strictly the EU model drivers – pressures, state, impact, response; that more general messages should me made for each chapter as well as for the whole report; that the report should be completed using some information but existing data should be selected and treated more carefully; and that the form of presenting information should be made more relevant to managerial officers which are the main target group of the report.
The report will be further improved and completed in the beginning of 2008.
