Key Sources Identification and Emission Inventory Development Training Course
10-12 December 2007, Beijing, China

In response to the increasing demand for better air quality management in China during the 11th Five Year Planning, SEPA has initiated crucial measures to identify the pollution sources and pollution levels nationwide. There is increased awareness at all levels in China that emission inventory is crucial in air quality management but often emission inventory studies in the last 10 years were mainly for research purpose rather than linked with policy responses. There is also a general lack of knowledge on how to formulate an inventory at most cost-effective but reveal reasonable messages for actionable response at the city level. Hence this course will build on the most updated experience by SEI in Asia and putting it in a Chinese context, aiming to provide the participants with sufficient tools and skills that they can apply to source emission management in their respective cities.
