A one day seminar was organized by SUPARCO on Aerosol & Environmental Impacts at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (LCCI) Lahore on 13th December 2007.
As we know that ambient air pollution is now recognized as the important problem. Fog aerosol and particulate pollution contribute to excess mortality, cardiac and respiratory disease which adversely affect the human health and loss to national economy.
To enhance public awareness, public participation and skills development of other stake holders from both public and private sector in these environmental issues, SUPARCO organized a one day seminar on "Aerosol and Environmental Impacts" at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Lahore on 13th December 2007. Besides Scientists, Air Quality Experts, Environmental Engineers, and others participants attended the seminar.
The Punjab Minister of Environment, Fakir Syed Aijazuddin was the chief Guest of the seminar. Director General SUPARCO Arshad Husain Siraj, welcomed participants of the seminar while Dr. Badar Ghauri and Ms. Arifa of SUPARCO, Dr. Saleemi of UET Lahore, Dr. Ilyas Faridi of Institute of Public Health, Lahore, highlighted the prevailing level of aerosols in the city and their environmental impacts.
The participants appreciated SUPARCO’s initiatives and efforts for carrying out scientific studies on aerosols and their impacts on health, agriculture, commercial activities etc.
