Summary :

The Indian Sustainable Transport Policy raises a huge hue and cry over the rapidly evaporating mode of transport i.e. Cycling. The authorities have long neglected the environment friendly mode of transport i.e. cycling. The mode share of cycling is on decreasing trend in all Indian cities. The basic design and policy code of cycle tracks and its recommendation has long been forgotten (IRC:-11-1962). It is a high time that the government revitalise this mode of transport.
