Energy Efficiency in the Transport Sector

ADB has requested CAI-Asia to look at the issue of transport and energy efficiency. This as a follow-up to the G8 meeting in Gleneagles in which agreement was reached to develop an investments framework to address climate change objectives. ADB along with the European Investment Bank were tasked to lead this work. As a first step we have started to collect and document existing information on the topic of energy efficiency in the transport sector.

CAI-Asia would also like to identify key resource persons which can be involved in future discussions on the topic, and welcome ideas and suggestions on possible policy measures that could be taken to promote energy efficiency in the transport sector in Asia up to 2030. We are primarily interested in materials on developing countries Asia but we would also like to hear about documents which summarize the current state of knowledge on the topic for Europe, USA, or Japan.
