Organization Description
UNCRD was established in 1971 as the only United Nations organization promoting regional development in developing and transitional economies in Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America. The three key components of UNCRD are - Human Security, Environment, and Disaster Management, supplemented by a Training unit to meets the needs of the developing countries in the region (http://www.uncrd.or.jp/env/est).
