Urban Transport Project (Kyrgyz)
The Kyrgyz Urban Transport Project, aims at providing reliable mobility to the populations of the cities of Bishkek, Osh, and Jalalabad, through the restoration of urban roads, its maintenance and rehabilitation. The components include: 1) civil works for the rehabilitation, and maintenance of urban public networks. Rehabilitation treatments may include complete reconstruction, to asphalt overlays, including drainage improvements. Routine maintenance supplementary funds will also be provided for those sections of roads not included for other rehabilitation treatment; 2) consulting services for the engineering design, and construction supervision, introducing design technologies for road maintenance, and rehabilitation, condition assessment, economic prioritization, and international procurement practices. In addition to on-the-job training, consultants will assist in establishing standard contracting practices, to be documented in a set of manuals for further application throughout the country. Additionally, assistance will be provided for implementation of a computerized maintenance management system; and, a Municipal Road Finance Study will address accessibility to funding resources; and, 3) project management, and Project Implementation Unit (PIU) operating costs, will be funded, including PIU's financial audits, and repayment of the Project Preparation Facility
