The ERG investigated the potential environmental effects of likely fuel options to establish environmental baselines, including commissioning CSIRO to develop a model of the impact of these fuels on Perth s airshed. It sought input on the mechanical, economic and/or environmental performance of a variety of bus and fuel types, both in Australia and overseas. Finally, it undertook an economic analysis, which was then used as a baseline to factor in the economic costs of various environmental impacts.
