The Information Pool provides comprehensive information on cleaner vehicle/fuels technologies for urban buses and trucks and will be continuously updated. It is currently in the final stages of development.
The Info-pool addresses the following topics:
- Synopsis of best practices and lessons learned (positive and negative results) of programs, projects, pilot and demonstration projects and public-private partnerships for the introduction of clean vehicle/fuels technologies for buses and trucks
- In-depth analysis of specific conditions (energy sources, fuel pricing, economic incentives, environmental policies etc.) in representative Latin American cities that are relevant to accelerate the introduction of clean vehicles/fuels technologies
- Evaluation of clean technologies (propulsion systems and fuels) for buses and trucks used in urban transport in representative Latin American cities that are able to contribute cost-effectively to local and global environmental objectives within the next 20 years
- Assessment of the most promising policy options and appropriate institutional set-ups that could help to remove market barriers and to increase market penetration of clean vehicle/fuels technologies.
The Clean Air Initiative is collaborating with the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) to develop a "Transportation and Air Quality Toolkit." Further details will be posted as they become available.
