One Day Seminar: Air Pollution Control in HK

Air pollution becomes an ever-increasing serious problem facing by an international city such as Hong Kong, because of the rapid increase in the demands of transportation and energy utilization. Engineers and environmentalists are facing increasing challenges in air pollution control under the growing general concern on improving the environmental quality. In addition, new policies may be required to set up by the Government to cope with the new challenges in this difficult but important branch of engineering.

In this seminar, leading experts and scholars in air pollution control will share their views and experiences in this important issue. Government officials of HKSAR will also participate and share their views in the actions taken by the Government to control air pollution. Mr. C.W. Tse, Assistant Director of the Environmental Protection Department, will give an opening address.

This one-day seminar forms part of the activities within the Science Week organized by the Faculty of Engineering in this 65th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. A seminar proceeding will be provided to every participant.
