Since 1993, eceee's Summer Studies have advanced the frontiers in energy efficiency policy, research and implementation. The eceee 2005 Summer Study (the 7th in the series) will continue the tradition of providing a forum for exchange of innovative ideas and information on all aspects of energy efficiency – technical, economic and social. It invites practitioners, researchers, policy makers and everyone else with an interest in energy efficiency to confront their understanding of how greater energy efficiency and reduced consumption can be achieved.
The 2005 Summer Study will deal with public and private policy, energy efficient buildings, sustainable transport, market transformation, measurement and monitoring, dynamics of consumption and new economic instruments.
The Summer Study is a timely opportunity to discuss several European Directives. The Directives on emissions trading, energy services, energy performance of buildings and eco-design of energy using products are all in important formative or implementation stages.
We are counting on you to contribute to the definition of who and what actually delivers energy efficiency and reduces energy demand. Whether you are active on the local, national, European or global level, your contribution is important.
Back in Mandelieu
The 2005 Summer Study will be held in Mandelieu, close to Cannes and Nice on the Côte d'Azur in Southern France. The Summer Study is now moving back to the same place where it has been held several times before. The Mandelieu site was refurbished in 2003.
