Foreword
This Philippine National Standard specification for natural gas as compressed fuel for vehicles was prepared by the Technical Committee on Natural Gas Utilization, TC 65 through its subcommittee on Gas Quality in liaison with the Technical Committee on Road Vehicles and Technical Committee on Gas Cylinders and was approved for adoption as Philippine National Standard by the Bureau of Product Standards.
This standard was made in coordination with the Department of Energy – Energy Utilization Management Bureau in support to the Government’s Natural Gas Vehicle Program for Public Transport (NGVPPT) which was launched by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last October 16, 2002. This project aims to support the Philippine Govenrment’s effort to promote the development and utilization of alternative and clean fuel technology while making public transport less vulnerable to the volatility of world oil prices.
Table 1 was prepared with respect to the existing Philippine condition and based on PNS ISO 15403:2003 Natural gas -- Designation of the quality of natural gas for use as a compressed fuel for vehicles. Reference to the setting of specifications also includes Malampaya specification and the gas composition requirement of ECE Regulation 110:2001 page 51 annex 3.
This standard may be reviewed and revised as necessary, but not later than two years after its adoption.
