The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's eeBuildings program is pleased to announce three new, foreign language versions of EZ Wizard, a free software tool developed by ENERGY STAR®.
EZ Wizard software activates the monitor shutdown features built into Microsoft Windows. Based on ENERGY STAR's domestic experience in the United States with EZ Wizard, running the software on a single PC could save approximately 200 kwh of energy per year.
EZ Wizard is now available in Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish through the eeBuildings web site at http://www.epa.gov/eeBuildings .
These versions of EZ Wizard will enable eeBuildings to target energy saving opportunities in China, Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America. eeBuildings will also introduce the English version of EZ Wizard in India and South Africa. EPA estimates that there are approximately 128 million desktop personal computers in these countries and regions combined.
Together, the new versions of EZ Wizard can tap a substantial opportunity for energy savings and greenhouse gas reductions in developing countries.
Please share this exciting news with your associates. The software is easy to download and takes only a few moments to run.
