Urban Planning and Urban Transport Planning expert Prof Madhav Badami said that in a country of pedestrians like India, the urban transport planning focused exclusively on motor vehicles.

He was delivering a talk at Bangalore International Centre on urban transport planning.

He said that pedestrians did not contribute to congestion on roads nor did they benefit from motorisation 'but were hugely affected adversely by both the factors'.
