Can the farmer survive?
Vietnamese government appoved a National Target Program (NTP) on Climate Change Response on 2 Dec. 2008. Strategic objectives of the NTP are to assess climate change impacts on sectors and regions in specific periods, to develop feasible action plans to effectively respond to climate change in the short-term and long-term to ensure sustainable development of Viet Nam, and to take opportunities to develop towards a low-carbon economy, and to join the international community’s efforts in mitigating climate change and protecting the climatic system.

Vietnam will set aside VND2.37 trillion (US$143.6 million) between 2009 and 2015 to address climate change, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. In December last year, Denmark announced a $40 million grant to the Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Project 2009-2013, which will be part of the National Target Program on Climate Change in Vietnam.
